Deck effects (Deckbuilding rules and abilities) change the rules of decks.
When you add cards to your deck, the collection will automatically adjust to show your options.

This means Deny will hide cards, Allow show, and require/pick will show the options until you pick them.

If you want your players to pick a Hero, you can add "Pick 1 Hero." to the deck rules.

If you want that Hero to determine what cards can be selected, add "Deny all by default." to deck rules, then add "Deck: Unlock <type> cards." to your Heroes.

If you just want to limit decks to 2 types of cards, you can add "Limited to 2 of <type1>, <type2> or <type3>." to your rules. Deck effects are not shown when in a match.

Here is the list of deck effects and order in which they take effect.

  • Increase|Decrease deck [maximum|minimum] size.
  • Set deck maximum size. (highest wins)
  • Set deck minimum size. (lowest wins)
  • Set deck size. (highest wins)
  • Deny all by default. (use as default rule to make cards unlock things)
  • Unlock <card|type> cards.
  • Allow X <card|type>. (unlock & limit, stacks)
  • Pick X <card|type>. (unlock, require & limit, stacks)
  • Require X <card|type>. (stacks)
  • Limit <card|type> cards to X.
  • Limited to <types>. (and requires specified types)
  • Limited to X of <types>. (and requires selected types)
  • Deny <card|type> cards.

What about Draft?
It follows the same rules (for now) and still uses cards with "Usable in draft" checked. In the future other game modes will be able to have their own seperate rules. Please let me know if there is something that can be done better or something is missing.

Next I will be focusing on fixing bugs, I neglected them a bit to get this out.
